He graduated in medicine from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) (1999), PhD in Biological Chemistry at UFRJ (2004), Title of Psychiatry Specialist by the Brazilian Association of Psychiatry (2006) and Human Frontier Science Program Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (2010). He is currently Associate Professor at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB) and the Institute of Psychiatry (IPUB) at UFRJ, Fellow of CNPq level II productivity, Young Scientist FAPERJ and Coordinator of the Research Program in Neuroscience Basic and Clinical ICB-UFRJ . He has experience in the area of Neuroscience and Psychiatry, acting on the following topics:. Cognitive Neurotherapy, neuroplasticity, schizophrenia, dementia and neurotransmitter amino acids
Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease and mood disorders occur with changes in cognitive said brain functions such as attention, memory, hearing and vision.
