Suresh Kumar Mendu is currently working as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Pharmacology, University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. He got his Ph.D. from Uppsala University, Sweden. He graduated in molecular biology at Umea University, Sweden. He grew up in India and attended Acharya Nagarajuna University, graduated in Biochemistry and Microbiology. He worked for a clinical reference lab, Hyderabad, India for 3 years as a biochemist after his graduation. His publications include 6 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, 1 review article and 1 book chapter and all the publications are well cited in the research community. His field of expertise is Ion Channels Role in Immune cells.
He works mainly with ion channels such as TRP family and GABAA channel family in immune cells such as T cells, macrophages. His technical expertise includes flowcytometry, electrophysiology, molecular biology and live-cell imaging.
