High-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder In Youth

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), comprised of autistic disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified, is a chronic and debilitating neuropsychiatric disorder affecting as many as one in 88 youth in the USA. Characterized by social and/or communication deficits and restricted interests/repetitive behaviors, affected individuals can vary widely in the presentation and severity of core ASD symptoms and comorbid conditions, and the degree to which autism symptoms and comorbid conditions impair family, school and social functioning. Approximately 50% of youth with ASD experience clinically significant anxiety that impairs functioning above and beyond the impact of core ASD symptomology. Citations are important for a journal to get impact factor. The impact factor is a measure reflecting the average number of citations to recent articles published in the journal. The impact of the journal is influenced by impact factor, the journals with high impact factor are considered more important than those with lower ones. To increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals OMICS Group top online publishing journals are indexed in different indexing and archiving services.
