Biography

Dr. Lukas A. Holzer has received his MD at the Medical University of Vienna. During his MD studies he did clerkships at the University of Bonn, the University College London, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Zürich. Currently, he is Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Medical University of Graz. He has been visiting research fellow at the Center for Advanced Orthopaedic Studies at the Harvard Medical School. His research has included basic, translational and clinical studies in various musculoskeletal conditions including osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. He is serving as an associate editor of Plastic and Aesthetic Research and editorial member of International Journal of Orthopaedics and Journal of Rheumatic Diseases and Treatment. Furthermore he served as reviewer for journal such as New England Journal of Medicine, Acta Orthopaedica, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders. He is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research and the International Osteoporosis Foundation. 

Research Interest

Translational and clinical studies in various musculoskeletal conditions including osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
