Joerg Distler

Joerg Distler is working as a physician and research group leader at the Department of Internal Medicine 3 and Institute for Clinical Immunology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. He did his thesis at the WHO center of rheumatology at the University of Zurich in Switzerland and obtained his degree from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He is currently the head of the outpatient clinic of the department of internal medicine 3. His major research areas are mechanisms of fibroblast activation and fibrosis and osteoimmunology. His work has a strong translational focus and is aiming to develop novel therapeutic approaches with direct transfer from bench to bedside.
