Abstract :

Treatment of symptomatic basilar artery stenosis with ballon expandable Apollo stent: Purpose To observe the safety and effectiveness of ballon expandable Apollo stent for the treatmen of symptomatic basilar artery stenosis of symptomatic basilar artery stenosis. Materials and Methods 52 patients with symptomatic basilar artery stenosis(all>70%) were treated with Applo stent. The mean time of clinical follow-up was 19 months.Clinical evaluation was performed based on the modified Rankin Scale(mRS). Results The stent placement was technically successful in all 52 patients.Clinical symptoms were improved in 42 patients after stenting were ΓΆΒ?Β¤2,while of 10 patients were>2. Conclusion Balloon expandable Apollo stent placement is a safe and efficacious alternative for the treatment of symptomatic basilar stenosis.
