Bioenergy, one of the renewable energies, is an important solution to energy problems. In recent years, accelerating efforts to reduce the negative effects of environmental pollution and climate changes along with the increasing need for energy have also contributed to the development and dissemination of bioenergy and biofuels. Biomass can be used as a fuel tree, plant, fertilizer and from biological materials such as waste used in the sense of energy; renewable, ubiquitous, providing socio-economic development, eco friendly, electricity can be produced, fuel for vehicles. It is a strategic energy source.Biogas is a colorless, odorless, lighter than air, bright blueburning gas mixture that occurs in an oxygen-free environment of organic waste and residues, namely biomass. Usage Areas of Biogas , Heating and heating by direct burning, Transportation using motor fuel, Obtaining energy by using it as turbine fuel, Use in fuel cells, Cost reduction by mixing with existing natural gas, Chemical substance acquisition.
Ibrahim Gunes, was born in Edirne, Turkey. He received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Istanbul University in 1999 ,2005 and 2010, Currently, he is an Assoc. Prof. Istanbul University- CerrahpaÅ?a in Electrical-Electronics Engineering Department. , His research interests are Renewable Energy, high voltage insulation materials and high voltage technology.
