Introduction: Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorders, including multiple motor and non-motor symptoms, which each in turn cause widespread disability and dysfunction in these patients. This study was conducted to investigate the failure of Parkinson's disease. Materials & Methods: This study was based on randomized series. Depression according to the DSM-IV, the amount of cognitive disorders based on the mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and the inability of patients were diagnosed according to the modified Hoehn and Yahr staging scale. Olfactory dysfunction with water, rosewater, tobacco and coffee were diagnosed. Results: A total of 79 patients were examined. The rate of disease in men was three times more than women. The most affected age group were 70-79 years and the prevalence of depression and cognitive disorders, 45/6 and 32/9, respectively. The prevalence of onoff strikes, ground strikes and olfactory disorders were 9/5, 32/21 and 68/4 correspondingly, percent and the prevalence in the third stage of the disease was more than other stages. Among duration of the disease, treatment duration and the inability a significant relationship was observed. The relationship between depression, disability and the severity of the disease with P=0/006 was significant. Conclusion: This study showed a high prevalence of motor and non-motor disorders in patients with Parkinson's disease. Inability to perform activities affected by factors such as: age, duration of treatment and duration of disease. So the diagnosis and appropriate treatment should be considered prior to the onset of disability.
