CHAN SIOK GIM received her degrees from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur; BSc Edu (Hons) degree in 1979, Masters Education in 1985 and Doctor in Philosophy Edu in 2003. Currently she is pursuing her Bachelor of Jurisprudence (External) also from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. In 2002 she was awarded the Science Education Award from the Torray Foundation. During that time she was teaching Chemistry in a fully residential secondary school. She wrote and published as many as 20 Chemistry books for the SPM learners during her 37 year-tenure. Since 2004 she has successfully supervised 12 Masters in Education, 12 Masters in Nursing and three Masters in Islamic Studies while as a part time tutor at Open University Malaysia. Currently she is supervising four Education Doctorate students at Open University Malaysia (OUM) Kota Bharu Kelantan. She has 20 articles published in Akademika, Jurnal Pendidikan, Kajian Malaysia and Malaysian Journal of Nursing.
She has research interest in nursing and education.
