Dr Angela Darvill is a senior Lecturer in Children’s Nursing at the University of Huddersfield. Angela is programme leader for the Post Graduate in Health professional Education. Angela has a PhD in 2013, Post Graduate Diploma in Education 1998 and an MSc Health Professional Education 2000. Angela is vice chair of the Children and Young People’s Nurse Academics Forum. Angela is an experienced educator and senior lecturer in Children and Young People’s nursing and has for 20 years been responsible for the education, supervision and support of health care professionals, and their mentors and lecturers. Angela engages in continuing professional development in teaching and learning pedagogy, incorporating research, scholarship and the evaluation of professional practices. She is a senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
She has research interests in the areas of children and young people’s nursing, health professional education, transition and preparation for professional practice and cultural competence in nursing practice.
