Dr. Silvia R. Delgado was born in Havana. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Multiple Sclerosis, Department of Neurology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She has hold this position since 2003.
Dr. Delgado received her Medical Degree from the University of Havana, Cuba, in 1985. She completed a Residency program in Basic and Clinical Immunology at the University of Havana in 1988 and a Residency program in Neurology at Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, Florida in 2001. She also completed a Fellowship in Neuroimmunological Disorders and Multiple Sclerosis at the MS Center, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2002.
Dr. Delgado is a Neurology Attending and Consultant at Jackson Memorial Hospital and is involved in the teaching of Neurology Residents and Medical Students. She is Board-certified in Neurology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology since 2000. Dr. Delgado participates in numerous clinical trials for MS treatments and has been author of several publications in this field. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also the Acting Director of the MS Infusion Center for the treatment of MS with Tysabri.
