Marta Seghieri graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Florence (Italy) with a dissertation on oxidative stress and neuroprotective function of insulin growth factor (IGF-1) in Alzheimer disease (in vivo studies). Since 2010, as resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Pisa, she has been attending clinical activities (internal medicine ward and outpatient clinic, with a special interest in metabolic diseases) and has been involved in a research program (in vivo study in the area of physiopathology of diabetes, especially in the mechanism of beta-cell function (accepted abstract at ADA meeting, Chicago 2013) and action of incretins
