Biography
Dr. Jeffrey Palmer is a professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), otolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and functional anatomy and evolution at the Johns Hopkins University. He also directs the Swallowing and Oral Function Laboratory.After initial piano studies at the Juilliard School, Dr. Palmer obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from New York University, and completed a residency in PM&R at the University of Washington in Seattle. A member of the Johns Hopkins faculty since 1983, Dr. Palmer reached the rank of professor in 2002. From 2004-14, he served as the Lawrence Cardinal Shehan Professor and Chair of the Department of PM&R and Physiatrist-in-Chief of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is also a Visiting Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin and at Fujita Health University in Japan.
