Howard L Zwibel, MD, established the Comprehensive Care MS Center with the Baptist Health System in Miami, FL in 1990. He earned his MD from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, PA and completed a residency in neurology at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami in Florida. He has served as Voluntary Professor of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine; as a Member of the Board of Governors of the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers; and was a Councilor to the American Academy of Neurology in the formation of the MS Sectio, where he then served as the first Chairman of the Practice Committee. Currently, he is a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and serves on the Clinical Practice Committee, the Chapter Affiliation Committee, and the Emerging Therapy Committee. He has been honored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society by receiving the HOPE Award and through the establishment of the Dr Howard Zwibel Multiple Sclerosis Medical Student Annual Scholarship, which is presented to a student from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine who demonstrates interest in the area of multiple sclerosis. He has published numerous articles regarding the clinical aspects of MS and is a frequent lecturer in the United States and internationally on the subject of multiple sclerosis.
