Dr. Christopher B. Shields, M.D. serves as President of Norton Neuroscience Institute at Norton Healthcare, Inc. Dr. Shields is professor and chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is board certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Board of Neurological Surgery, as well as several other professional medical associations. Dr. Shields earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto in Ontario , Canada. He completed his internship at St. Michael's Hospital at the University of Toronto and his residency at University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. Dr. Shields completed a fellowship in microvascular neurosurgery at the University of Vermont in Burlington.
