The main objective of the present study was to determine the ethanolic extract of Pouzolzia zeylanica (L.) Benn for antifungal activity.To determine the antifungal activitiy agar disc diffusion method was used. The antifungal activity of the extracts was compared with standard drug Griseofulvin (500 μg/disc). The ethanol extract of Pouzolzia zeylanica (L.) Benn showed very good antifungal activity ranging from zone of inhibition (7.0-26) mm and Aspergillus niger was the most susceptible fungal strain of the Ethanolic extract of Pouzolzia zeylanica (L.) Benn. Due to these promising results, further in vivo studies over Pouzolzia zeylanica (L.) Benn must be conducted.
