A right lying heart is a very rare condition whereby the heart is positioned in the right half of the torso. It was described with repeated incidence of 1 in 5,000 – 3,000 of the general population [1]. I am presenting this case as it was misdiagnosed as dextrocardia.
Case presentation
49 year old female presented with right side pneumonia. On examination, heart sound were heard on the right side of the chest ,resulting in an initial impression of dextrocardia. Electrocardiogram didn’t show evidence of dextrocardia. Echocardiography demonstrated dextro-position of the heart with no congenital anomalies. Subsequently, computed tomography of chest was done and revealed an absence of the right lung parynchayma with abrupt termination of the right main bronchus after bifurcation of the carina and shift of the heart to the right side as shown in (figure 3). No other congenital anomalies were detected. of enzymes production, mechanistic action of enzymes, commercial aspects and the crucial role of enzymes in biofuels production. Discussion Dextro-position of the heart is often being misdiagnosed as dextrocardia .It can be congenital or aquired and mostly being associated with pulmonary congenital anomalies. It’s incidentally discovered, most patients are a symptomatic and some can present with pulmonary and/or gastrointestinal related symptoms. It carries variable prognosis which associated with other major extra-pulmonary abnormalities, patients frequently die [2], but when it confined only to the lung such in our case ,prolonged survival is possible, but these cases are likely prone to recurrent 2 episodes of lower respiratory tract infection.
