Abstract

In the end of 2019 a novel coronavirus designated severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, and has been disseminated worldwide and affected all global populations. In the pediatric population, it was associated with unspecified symptoms and less severity when compared to adults. At the beginning of the pandemic, there were case reports of an association between SARS-CoV-2 and other viruses common to the season, with some reports of coinfections. Due to the low number of cases, the relation between the respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus and SARSCoV-2 is still uncertain. Hence this account of a 3-month-old infant who presented acute respiratory symptoms associated with the coinfection of RSV, Rhinovirus and SARS-CoV-2. The diagnosis was confirmed by a multiplex respiratory panel.
