Tumor necrosis is often limited to a small area within the sample. Its presence suggests a more aggressive breast cancer. Tumour necrosis factor (TNF), a naturally occurring protein that is produced in the human body by the phagocytic cells known as macrophages. The tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily is a protein superfamily of type II transmembrane proteins containing TNF homology domain and forming trimers. The tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily, composed of 19 ligands and 29 receptors, plays highly diversified roles in the body.
