Macronutrients are nutrients that provide calories or energy and are required in large amounts to keep up body functions and do the activities of existence. There are three broad classes of macronutrients: proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. The food situation within the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region has improved over the last four decades. However, the changes in food habits aren't identical in all told countries, which may be divided into three groups.
