Law-uses

A binding custom or practice of a community : a rule of conduct or action prescribed (see prescribe sense 1a) or formally recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority. Offenses against a federal, state, or local community itself are the subject of criminal law, which provides for the government to punish the offender. The law serves many purposes. Four principal ones are establishing standards, maintaining order, resolving disputes, and protecting liberties and rights. It may sound Cliché but the most important law of the land is considered to be the supreme law of the land which is protected by the Supreme Court of the United States. It is one of the sole purposes of the highest Court to uphold, the document which federal employees are to uphold, and drafted by our founding fathers.
