The Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP) is that the solely intergovernmental programme of the United Nations system dedicated to water analysis and management, and connected education and capability development. The IHP commenced in 1975 as associate degree internationally coordinated hydrological analysis programme. Since then, it's evolved to facilitate associate degree knowledge domain and integrated approach to watershed and geological formation management, incorporating the social dimension of water, and supports international cooperation in hydrological and fresh sciences and at the interface with policy-makers, and reinforces institutional and individual capacities. The Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme stimulates and encourages hydrological analysis and assists Member States in analysis and coaching activities. Its eighth part focuses on six thematic areas: water-related disasters and hydrological changes; groundwater in a very ever-changing environment; addressing water insufficiency and quality; water and human settlements of the future; ecohydrology, engineering harmony for a property world; and water education, key to water security.
