Covid-19 Positive Cases In Zimbabwe

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by an incipiently discovered coronavirus. This virus is mainly transmitted through droplets engendered when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or exhales. These droplets are too cumbersomely hefty to hang in the air, and expeditiously fall on floors or surfaces. You can be infected by inhaling the virus if you are within close proximity of someone who has COVID-19, or by physically contacting a contaminated surface and then your ocular perceivers, nasal discerner or mouth. Most people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to mitigate symptoms and recuperate without special treatment. If you feel sick you should repose, drink plenty of fluid, and victual nutritious pabulum. Stay in a separate room from other family members, and utilize a dedicated bathroom if possible. Some of Zimbabwe's provinces, especially Manicaland, Masvingo and Mashonaland East, additionally struggled with a malaria outbreak concurrently. Though malaria is treatable, the healthcare system faces drug shortages and incremented strain with the spread of COVID-19. Zimbabwe is among the countries that have been identified to be in peril of the COVID-19 pandemic. As of the 15th of March 2020, there has been no attested case of the virus. Official reports of suspect cases were habituated to appraise the general screening, case management, and preparedness of the country towards the COVID-19 pandemic. In terms of the surveillance and capacity to screen at ports of ingression, the country seems to be faring well. The country might not be screening optimally, considering the number of COVID-19 tests conducted to date and suspected cases that missed testing. Three of the suspected cases faced noetic, convivial, and psychological consequences due to them being suspects of COVID-19. There is a desideratum to enhance the screening process and infrastructure at all ports of ingress. More COVID-19 diagnostic tests should be procured to increment the testing capacity. Training and vigilance of phrenic, convivial, and psychological consequences of COVID-19 should be offered to health care workers and the public. More financial resources should be sourced to enable the country to control the pandemic.
