Circuit Breakers

A circuit breaker is a switching device that interrupts the abnormal or fault current. It is a mechanical device that disturbs the flow of high magnitude (fault) current and in additions performs the function of a switch. The circuit breaker is mainly designed for closing or opening of an electrical circuit, thus protects the electrical system from damage. The circuit breaker is a switching device which also offers protection by tripping & cutting off the supply to load in case of fault. Primarily the circuit breakers are used for switching of different kinds of load in Industries, Buildings, Commercial Complexes, and Hotels, etc.A circuit breaker is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current from an overload or short circuit. Its basic function is to interrupt current flow after a fault is detected. The molded circuit breaker is one of the foremost commonly used low-voltage air circuit current sensor. This is the breaker used typically in houses, certain industrial uses and small businesses. Types of low-voltage circuit breakers include the Miniature Circuit Breaker or MCB, and Molded Case Circuit Breaker or MCCB.This circuit breaker is the most common type found in distribution boards, which are the panels of breakers controlling different circuits within a house or building. A magnetic circuit breaker uses a solenoid to catch fast-acting overcurrent, allowing it to react to short-circuits.
